Terms of service

Effective 25 August 2026

What this covers

These terms apply to Copper CMS, a publishing platform provided over the internet at coppercms.com and its subdomains. Using the service means agreeing to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you are confirming that you may bind it.

Accounts

An account is created by invitation or with a signup code. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details on it, for the security of the credentials used to reach it, and for what the people you invite into your workspace do there. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been reached by someone who should not have it.

Your content

The content you write, upload or ingest into Copper CMS remains yours. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store it, back it up, process it and deliver it through the APIs and integrations you have configured.

You are responsible for having the rights to the content you put into the service, including content that arrives from a partner feed you have connected.

Acceptable use

You may not use Copper CMS to:

Plans, billing and limits

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, which handles payment details and invoices. We never see or store a card number. Fees are charged to the payment method on file until the subscription is cancelled.

Each plan carries limits on sites, seats, sources, ingested posts, API reads and storage. Extra sites can be added, and each one raises the account's allowances as described on the billing screen. Charges for a change part-way through a month are prorated by Stripe.

You can cancel at any time, and the subscription continues until the end of the period already paid for. We do not refund partial months. If payment fails, we will keep delivering content already published while we try again, but writing may be blocked until the account is settled.

Availability

We work to keep Copper CMS available and quick, but the service is provided as it is, without a guaranteed level of uptime. Maintenance, third-party outages and problems outside our control can all interrupt it.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, that is being used to harm the service or another customer, or that has gone unpaid. Where circumstances allow it, we will give notice first and a chance to put things right.

After an account ends, its content is removed from the live service. Copies may persist in backups for up to thirty days before they age out.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Copper CMS is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for lost or corrupted content. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

These terms may change as the product does. Material changes will be announced before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that means accepting them.
